When I attended the 2008 ING Discerning Eye Exhibition I had no idea I had won the Meynell Fenton Prize. I was so surprised when I heard my name that I thought there was another Trinidad Ball in the competititon. Winning this prize meant a lot to me. It really felt like an affirmation of my work and my standing as an artist.
